Science at Milford Junior School
At Milford Junior School our vision is to actively engage our children’s passion and curiosity towards Science. To develop a desire and the motivation to explore Science through practical application and theoretical conversation, in order to promote a deeper understanding and respect for the world around them.
Milford’s aim, through our spiral curriculum, is to ensure children are equipped with the confidence to work scientifically to cement core skills such as observing, classifying, analysing, predicting, fair testing and using secondary resources. This will develop children’s knowledge and awareness of scientific processes.
By the end of year 6, children should have the confidence to ask and answer questions for themselves using a variety of enquiry techniques. In addition, Milford Junior School continues to promote links with STEM ambassadors from the engineering world, currently Leonardo in Yeovil, as well as taking part in “Gifted & Talented” events at RNAS Yeovilton.
