  • My favourite subject is Art because I like drawing, colouring and painting.

  • My favourite subject is science because it is fun.
  • Everything is nice & fair; sometimes we get to do tug of war and activities on the field.
  • This school is very good; all the adults are very kind and help students make good choices.
  • Milford has great teachers, good equipment, science experiments and the school is a calm, friendly environment.

  • The library at our school has lots of amazing books to read.

  • I love and enjoy lessons and think that they are planned well.

  • I think Milford is great because of the lesson qualities.

Year 6

Welcome to our Year 6 page where you will find pictures and examples of work celebrating achievements within the year group.

 Science week competition winner

Congratulations to Jess (6H) who has won the Year 6 entry for the science week 'Exploration' themed competition. Jess chose to carry out her research on Mary Kingsley, a pioneering scientific explorer.

Spring term 1 'Spotlight Awards'

Congratulations to Evie (6HA) who has won the 'Headteacher Spotlight Award' for the whole school! Evie's wonderful Mayan mask was chosen out of the finalists who won 'Spotlight Awards' within each of the year groups.

Congratulations to our four 'Spotlight Award' winners who were chosen by Miss Elliott for producing 'work of the half term' in Year 6. The decision was so hard for one winner to be chosen that four were selected due to the high standards of art. Well done to Jaron (6N), Jayce (6PR), Imogen (6H) and Evie (6HA).

Our Topic this term has been 'Tansport'. To help with our topic, we took year 6 to Haynes Motor Museum to learn all about the history of transport.

English

A lot of our work this term has been inspired by Berlie Doherty's modern classic - Street Child. This gripping adventure is based on the true story of an orphan whose plight inspired Doctor Barnardo to set up his famous children's refuge.

 Multicultural Week

Year 6 studied 4 countries over the week. 6PR studied India, 6H looked at Australia, 6N focused on Germany and 6Ha were inspired by Spain. It was an amazing week packed with food tasting, research projects, art and music.

Science

We have been learning how to plan fair tests. We have been coming up with our own questions, and then finding ways of investigating them. So far, we have used balloons, magnets, paper clips, newton meters, paper, metal, wood, tin foil, water, bottles and much more in our experiments. We've been very busy!
