  • My favourite subject is Art because I like drawing, colouring and painting.

  • My favourite subject is science because it is fun.
  • Everything is nice & fair; sometimes we get to do tug of war and activities on the field.
  • This school is very good; all the adults are very kind and help students make good choices.
  • Milford has great teachers, good equipment, science experiments and the school is a calm, friendly environment.

  • The library at our school has lots of amazing books to read.

  • I love and enjoy lessons and think that they are planned well.

  • I think Milford is great because of the lesson qualities.

Milford Helping Hands

Milford Junior School, Glenthorne Avenue, Yeovil, BA21 4PG

Welcome to the Milford Helping Hands web page. If you already have children at Milford welcome back and if you are new to our school welcome to the Milford Family.

Milford Junior School is a community based school which thrives on parent involvement. By being a member of Milford Helping Hands you can support your child’s education both inside and outside the classroom.

Helping Hands is a friendly group of parents and teachers who raise funds and contribute to enriching your child’s learning experience at Milford.

We meet at school to discuss new and exciting ways to raise funds. We combine annual events such the Christmas Fayre and May Fayre with termly school discos and one off events such as cake sales and ‘Ice Lolly Friday’ which all help to raise vital funds which are used to:-

  • Buy resources to support lessons;

  • Purchase playground equipment;

  • Purchase high vis jackets to keep the pupils safe when out and about on school trips;

  • Provide each Year 6 pupil with an autograph book when they leave;

  • Support trips/activites such as visits to the local cinema and theatre company visits to the school;

  • Support Outdoor Week;

  • Fund supplies for children to use in our new DT kitchen;

  • Purchase Accerated Reader books;

  • Provide a leavers BBQ for Year 6 pupils.

Whether you can offer assistance at events or become a full member of Milford Helping Hands we would love to hear from you. New members are the key to ensure future support and inclusion of all the children here at Milford Junior School.

We, as a group, cannot go forward into the next academic year without your support.
